LTFRB applies status quo on taxi fare rate petition

LAND Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Director Porferio Clavel ruled Wednesday that the use of taxi meter will still be observed by all taxi operators that would take a trip from the city to the new Iloilo Airport pending the petition for rate increase.
Clavel warned that as the new airport opens Wednesday, taxi drivers who would use other or add charges to the amount reflected in their taxi meter will not be tolerated, while the petition of Association of Taxi Operators in Panay (Atop), to add P150 to the meter rate is still unresolved.
