BSP accepts art competition entries

Iloilo City (2 December) -- The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas-Iloilo Branch is now accepting entries for its art competition until December 15, 2010.

"The BSP Art Competition was launched with the aim to raise public's awareness and appreciation of the art and recognize the artistic excellence of our contemporary artists," said Doreen Santerva, Research Specialist of BSP-Iloilo.

The competition is open to all Filipino artists, professionals or non-professionals, aged 18 years old and above as of December 31, 2009, who have been declared prize winners, jurors' choice, or honorable mentions in Philippine Art Competitions or who have been invited by the internationally recognized institutions, or participated in international expositions, biennales or triennales.

Artists may explore any subject matter or theme and may use any medium such as oil, acrylic or mixed media. However, the competition does not allow the use of organic material.

Entries must not exceed 180 cm. x 180 cm., with a minimum size of 90 cm excluding frame. Maximum allowable weight is 20 kilos including frame.

The top three winners in this year's competition will receive cash prizes. First prize is P500,000, second place P300,000 and third place P200,000.
